Built Trans?

Buy a new one, or build the T56? I want it to very efficient but not crazy as of now due to funds being an issue.

LE3 package on a 383 and Street Twin... wanna drag it every so often, so the Tranny needs to be able to handle a beaten.

I heard the G Force is awesome? Richmond? Ideas?

Re: Built Trans?

Yes i have the same ? bc im considering a Lloyd Elliot package. New Tranny or Build up the T56? How much will these options cost? How hard would it be? And how much can a well built T56 handle?

Re: Built Trans?

Most people that drive 6-speed cars will agree that the trans is capable of handling fairly high HP numbers... certainly 500-600 range without failure---UNLESS you start missing shifts. That is what almost guarantees a trans failure. I have a 6-speed with a street twin clutch and a Pro5.0 shifter and slicks running 12.20s and don't have any problems. I intend to put more power to it and don't expect a failure.
