Brand new master cylinder, brand new slave cylinder, brand new line.

Installed system, left the connection to the slave cylinder hanging in there, poured fluid in the reservoir... lots of bubbles, stopped bubbling, started streaming out of the slave connection.
Held it in there while buddy continuously depressed brake pedal, heard noises, when I opened it a little fluid shot out every time.
stuck it all the way in there and put in the holding sleeve.

depressed clutch pedal a couple dozen times, there is fluid noise, piston does not move the throw-out fork at all.

What am I doing wrong? how hard is it to move the fork? should I be able to move it with my hand, because I can't.

 

Did you bench bleed the master?

 

After a few hours of reading through old threads I finally found the snippet of information I needed. Since I do not have the vacuum tool, and there is no real bleed aside from what I had already done, the final solution that got it functioning was to install the whole system, remove the cap, and manually run the slave cylinder in and out several times.
To get it just right, I had to do the same, except remove it and point the piston straight down (let gravity take the air) and repeat this many times, ensuring I went slowly on letting it retract.

 

I helped put the McLeod adjustable master on a buddy's 99 SS, and we pumped the pedal for about 15 minutes with no results - and the LS1 slave actually has a bleeder valve. I went back to my house and picked up my My-T-Vac and it solved the problem.
