Bought used T56 questions concerns inside w/pics and video

I purchased a T56 and Clutch to convert my A4 car just received the tranny and clutch today and just got done looking everything over. Have a couple questions/concerns as this is my first manual so I am unsure on some things.

1. As you can see in the picture before, the sleeve (technical name?) that goes around the input shaft is not center and looks crooked. When spinning the shaft I can hear it rub. Possible fix or solution? Yes the input shaft appears to be straight. Any input is greatly appreciated!

2. Also the throwout bearing on the clutch does not spin evenly(?) You can see in the video below. Normal?

That's not normal. Did it come out of a wrecked car? If so, I bet it's bent since that shaft goes into the back of the crank. If the block shifted in any way it could easliy do that.

I would first take it all apart and have the input shaft checked for straightness at a machine shop then go from their. It will wear out your input shaft bushing very fast if it is bent. That is if you can get it in to begin with. Good luck.

It did not come out of a wrecked car, the input shaft is straight or at least appears straight when spinning by hand. Seems to be the sleeve around it that is crooked. What is that part called?

I am not sure what that part is called, but the throwout bearing rides on it. A buddy of mine with an 03 Cobra with a T56 just broke his off in the same place. To get the sleeve out, you have to remove the cover plate from the transmission. There is a billet replacement part available so that won't happen again. I don't know where he got it but I am sure a Google search would help.

Mcleod makes a replacement steel guide tube. PN-8-117-1 You will need to take the front plate off and press out the old guide tube.
