ticking noise

I just recently started experiencing a ticking noise from my engine when I put it to the floor in my firebird. Changed the oil and it stopped for a few days, but now it's back. it only happens in 3rd gear and up and only when i'm at full throttle over 3k rpms. Anyone have any idea what it is? The engine is a high performance 1971 chevy 350
