What do you mean by "remote" bleeder? The LS1 slave cylinder is mounted on the front plate of the tranny, concentric with the input shaft. There's a bleeder that just barely pokes out through an opening in the bell housing. Is that what you mean?

Bleeding the clutch hydraulics serves the same purpose as bleeding your brakes - it get the air out of the system, firming up the pedal. If you ran it too low on the fluid in the master cylinder reservor, you might have air in the system.

To bleed, fill the reservoir, have someone apply the clutch, open the bleeder. Holding the clutch on the floor, close the bleeder and release the clutch pedal. Repeat until there is no sign of air in the system.

yeah so maybe i should bleed it and see if it firms it up...but i just dont want to get air in the line...attempting the "one man bleeder" ...lol

and yes i still have the 3rd gen...not getting rid of that...just got it back from a year in impound.

What kind of clutch do you have? The stock 98-00 MC is a piece of crap with anything but the stock clutch.

Use a Mity-vac to bleed your hydraulics. Put it on the remote bleeder and pull the fluid from the reservoir. There are tons of threads about it on LS1tech, you would probably find a lot more help there.

.
If it has the speed bleeder then trust it. It has a one way valve in it that only lets the fluid out and no air in.
