Best type of rear end for Auto-X /road racing/ drag racing....

Hey guys. My 10bolt is pretty much shot, its making some wonderful grinding noises and giving me some crazy vibrations. I was just wondering what the best all around rear end is? I mean i've looked into stuff specifically for drag racing, but i don't think it would be very good like if I ever wanted to try auto X or road racing. So what is the best all around rear end? Ford 9in? Dana S60? 12 bolt? I've already tried a search and didn't come up with anything. Thanks for the input!

The 9" is heavy and with most you lose ABS and some hp. However there are lots of good diff's for autox/RR for it. The S60 is the heaviest I believe, so lots of unsprung weight, not sure about the diff selection. The 12 bolt is the lightest of the 3 and you can get a TrueTrac gear diff.

So prob the 12 bolt would be the most durable and streetable between the options. What does everybody else use around here?

I sounds like this is a street car primarily. In that case, 12-bolt with an Eaton posi with the 800lb springs is how I would go.

i have the reg 400 lb springs in my eaton which is in a 8.5" 10 bolt and it leaves very nicely. why would you reccomend the 800 lb springs? ive always heard that they chatter alot.
