best place for replacement 4l60e?

Due to one of the bolts falling out of the rear main seal cover flying around like a bullet, I now have a transmission with a huge hole and crack in the bell housing. The crack extends a quarter of the way around. Is there any place that sells a good, reliable 4l60e outright? I considered having it welded but with 115,000 miles on the clock its overdue for a rebuild anyway

I used and highly recommend pro-built.net others I would consider are http://www.finishlinetrans.com/ teamtripp.com or http://www.cpt4l60e.com/

I know probuilt does not have a core charge or rather didn't when I had mine done, other probably have varying charges.

Are transmissions with cracked bellhousings usually taken in as cores?

We can get another case without any problem. The case would be considered a "hard part". We get $150 for a case.

I always recommend Frank @ CPT, and I know he can get a new case and has a few in stock from time to time. I must have missed the invisible posts above too...

Either way, Frank is still a supporting vender here, so you will be contributing to the message board too.

The "pros" who post here seem very knowlegable, though I have never used any of their products. They also seem to get a lot of positive feedback from board members. That might be a good place to start.
