bellhousing cracked

On my 4L60E the bellhousing cracked around one of the mounting bolts so now the tranny is only held on by 3 bolts. I checked the usual suspects such as the mount and mounting bolts but I cannot find anything out of the ordinary. What else might be to blame? Is it possible that the case just cracked from stress and age?

The tranny's held on by 6 bolts... so if you lose one that's 5 left. You're probably seeing the 4 lower ones ... there are another two all the way up top Was the tranny recently seperated from the engine?

Woops...forgot about the top two. The tranny was rebuilt about 6 months ago so it was seperated from the engine. I should also point out that I rebuilt the tranny and reinstalled it so I know all the bolts were tight.

Bad u-joint is a possibility. The car is lowered about an inch and a half. Would that screw up the pinion angle enough to screw with the tranny? The torque converter bolts are all good.
