When you replaced the trans mount, did you take out the drive shaft? If you did, did you mark it so you could put it back in the same way? If you removed the shaft and did not mark it just try taking it back out and rotating it 180* and see if that helps. It did with mine.

Re: bad viberation after replacing tranny mount!

I just put in my energy sus. mount about 2 weeks ago, ya a lil more vibration even at idle. maybe a bit worse at high speeds? Ya the car vibrates some, but its a sports car and its not a benz is how i look at it. I dont think mine is as bad as what some of you are describing at all, but i do have a lil vibration. But my lil vibration could be huge to some of you. In my book a huge cam and solid motor mounts are great fun and i dont mind em one bit. Rattle away as long as when i hit the loud pedal my eyeballs float to the back of my skull its all good.

Well, I have trouble believing it, but it is the truth!

My driveline vibration COMPLETELY disappeard when I replaced my cracked/broken flywheel!!

You guys might want to check your flywheels for cracks or damage. My '95 Z28 runs smooth as glass now, even with the poly mount in the tranny!

I know, you think I'm nuts, but just go check it!!!!

Okay, it's been 4 months now, and the driveline vibration still has not returned. Please, check your flywheel if you still have vibration!

With a Stock Tranny Mount...and Aluminum driveshaft...

The Vibs will be gone...

the stock steel shaft sucks..

Re: bad viberation after replacing tranny mount!

I've had issues with tranny mounts for awhile too. I changed the original mount to an O'Reilly replacement, and that lasted maybe 2 weeks. So I switched to a Prothane mount from Thunderracing, and after 3 weeks I got tired of it and bought a stock GM mount. It took 2 days for that to go bad. Now I'm starting to think I have a bad torque arm mount that's wreaking havoc on rubber mounts. I'll look at the torque arm in a few days and go from there. I really don't want to go back to a poly mount as it's very annoying. And this is coming from someone who doesn't think a cammed motor with true duals is too loud either.

Re: bad viberation after replacing tranny mount!

I don’t see why everyone says "get rid of the poly mount". If you have vibrations after you put one in, then there is probably a problem somewhere else and it's just showing up after having the mount in. If the ES mount does raise the tranny, then that might cause some vibration, but I don’t think it is making the amount of vibration that some guys report having. I think if you get bad vibrations you should look into what is actually causing the vibration and not just put a rubber mount back in to hide it again. Now I may be wrong about all this, I don't know what is causing everyone else's vibes but I do know that when I installed mine the other day it had the same vibration I noticed when I first got the car. But I know it isn't caused by the mount.

All I'm trying to say is that, say you do have an out of balance DS... If it's out of balance with a polly mount and drives you nuts, I don't think that changing to a rubber mount so you don't notice the DS vibration is the solution.

It's just trans mount... It doesn't have anything that rotates, spins, or moves. So how can everyone blame it for causing vibrations?

Re: bad viberation after replacing tranny mount!

My personal experience was that even with a 1LE driveshaft, I still had the BAD vibration with the ES mount. I changed to a LS1 mount and the car drives SMOOTH again. I understand that ES stopped making mounts for the f-body since the tolerances on the ES mount were far from factory which threw out driveline angles and caused vibrations (all this is word-of-mouth). I have a nice ES paperweight now (that's all I'll ever use it for again unless someone wants to buy it).

So you can just go to say Autozone and get a tranny mount for a 98+ Fbody and it will work on the 97- Fbodys?

Re: bad viberation after replacing tranny mount!

When I used to have my '02 WS6 I bought a poly tranny mount for it. After driving around with it for two days I took it off, sold it, and replaced it with a 1LE mount. I couldn't stand all the damn vibration.

I used a GM LS1 mount. The LS1 mount is alot better design than the LT1 mount. Go to your local dealership and pick one up or order one from one of the popular GM dealership parts guys mentioned / used on the board.

Re: bad viberation after replacing tranny mount!

I had the same prob with my poly mount, the things send alot of vibration into the body of the car. Get a 1le or the ones they use on the LS1 cars. I did it and it's good.

As for driveshaft, anything bigger then the stock LT1 is better. Try and get a LS1 from ebay for a bout $120-$150.
