b&m ripper shifter issues

I was wondering if any of you that had b&m ripper shifters have had any issues with them. I have one in my camaro but it seems that the ball on the bottom of the shifter comes out of the gear selector when shifted into third. anyone have any issues with this?

for a while I thought it was maybe the shift fork or key, but I have the transmission on the work bench and playing with it has brought me to this conclusion.

I just figured out why. I called B&M and the shifter ball is supposed to spec between .622 and .626. Mine speced out to be .619. Before you blame your shift forks and keys check your shifter. oh well.

You mean the actual "ball" on the end of the B&M shaft? (that goes into the plastic shifter "cup" inside the tranny?) .....

..... good info to know ... thanks for sharing!

yup, the actual ball on the end of the shaft. I never liked the b&m any way. pro 5.0 time for me.

That was my thought. I doubt .003 is enough for the ball to pop out, but you never know.

the clear plastic cup is in mine and seems to slightly aged. When I get a new shifter I am going to replace it, though. I am going to get the pro 5.0, I never liked the b&m the whole time I had it.
