4.10 or 3.73 on 10 bolt

I know putting 4.10 gears on a 10 bolt is not a smart thing to do...How safe am i if i go with 3.73 on a 10 bolt?

It's always a gamble no matter what. Doesn't matter whether you've got stock (ratio) gears, or if you've geared up to 3.73's, 4.10's, etc.

Everyone has broken everything inside these pieces of glass . And yet, lots of people have run lots of miles and lots of races with 4.10's, etc., and not broken anything!

It all depends on just how much you abuse it, and how lucky you are!

If you already have 3.42's, going to 3.73's isn't a huge change, and you may regret not going all the way to 4.10's. Although, you could try 3.90! (Motive makes 3.90's for the 10-bolt). I wouldn't use fear of breaking the gears as justification not to run the ratio I want.

Anything can break.

Goodluck!

I have had 3.73's in 3 rears. Never broke them. 2 were Richmond, 1 is Strange.
