ATF fluid & filter change

How many quarts do I need to change the fluid by dropping the pan?

Re: ATF fluid & filter change

About 4 and perhaps a little more.

I left my pan off for 24 hours and somehow ended up draining a couple quarts extra. Perhaps a small drain off via small opening in the TC. But 4 - 5 quarts is what I remember from my other 4L60E.

Adding more than you asked, you might consider disconnecting the output line and pumping out a few more quarts. What I do is collect it, then measure what came out in order to replace the quantity exactly.

Re: ATF fluid & filter change

I haven't really looked at the cooler lines but which one is the input to the cooler and which is the output to the trans?

Never Mind- Thank you for your reply. I found which lines are which in a cooler install. Thanks again
