Exclamation Car Will Not Go Into Any Gear!!!!!!

OK so i was driving home from dinner. I was on 5th gear on the freeway, I floored it a couple times to have some fun. I got off the freeway and shifted normally into first through th gears. Than I went to turn into a parking lot and i went from third down to 2nd and I rev-matched perfectly with THE CLUTH ALL THE WAY ON THE FLOOR and the tranny would not let me into 2nd. So I thought i might have let the clutch out too early so i went back into neutral and tried to go into a different gear(3rd). The car would not and still will not let me go into any gear while the engine is on. Nothing. Thr clutch will go all the way in and is easy to push still but i can not engage into any gear. But when the car is off i can engage the clutch and go through all the gears. What is wrong with my car??? I am at a complete loss.......

Was the clutch disengaging while the motor was running? Sounds like it didn't let go. You'll be able to go through all the gears with the motor off, but with it running, the odds of getting it into a gear aren't that great.

Re: Car Will Not Go Into Any Gear!!!!!!

it might be that but could it also be an issue with the hydrolic fluid? i took it to the mechanic and he realized what i was talking about. Car is easy to drive when cold, goes into all gears, but when it gets up to temp becomes very hard to get into any gear. so he was thinking someone used the wrong fluid....... could this be the solution to my problem? he is going to flush the system today

Ditto on that one, exact same thing happened to my truck. 2nd gear went first then it just wouldnt go into any gear the next morning. Slave cylinder replaced and shifted fine.
