ASR Light
ASR Light
I bought a 98 camaro ss today. I am new to this board and I already have my first tech question. The ASR light is stuck on and the switch will not activate the traction control. Any ideas of what might be the problem, and how much it will cost me to fix? Thanks in advance for your help.
I wish mine was broken....
You may have a bad wheel speed sensor, an open circuit to the ASR motor or any of several other things. I'd think a bad wheel speed sensor would show an ABS light as well, but I could be wrong.

Why fix it! I have seen a bypass switch for about $60 to do what your car did for you!

$450 for ASR
$60 for the switch to turn it off
This was a good purchase (ASR).
You may just have a connection problem, Iwouldn't trust a non-dealer with that ASR system and wiring. It if breaks for good, it will be a lot. Does the system still work at all though?
What will happen is if you would start to spin your tires and lose traction, the pedal will shoot back up and it will feel like there is a brick under the pedal.
Welcome to the board
