I'm going from 3.23's to 4.10's. How many MPH did you gain going from 3.42's to 4.10's? In the quarter mile I mean.

I did an M6 conversion thats why I have 3.23's.

as far as horsepower, it doesnt add horsepower directly, its more or less winding up a lot quicker, keeping your car more in the "sweet spot" in the rpm ranges and such, thus adding more low end torque, seat of the pants type notice.

IE: you have the same exact hp/tq cars, 1 with 4.10's and the other w/3.42's the car with the 4.10's will have a quicker acceleration proviided decent traction, than the 3.42's. But will top speed alittle slower than the car geared w/ 3.42's.

As far as numbers go such as times:
I went the best of 13.5 w/ my 3.42's and streetires at around 107mph. and ran constant 13.0's with 4.11's and nittos w/ a trap speed of 110-111. Dont go by the trapspeed on my car, it would sixty foot like crap. 2.2-2.4 usually! i should have been in the mid 12's with a decent launch and 60'

Hope this helps, get the 4.10's they're great, and dont worry bout top speed i burried my speedo at the pin (that little stopper thing that stops the needle) after my 4.10's. Some scary sheet tho!

I picked up ~3 MPH or so from what I usually trapped at last year, but ran the same ET as last year for the most part because I couldn't hook up. With some more seat time I expect the ET to drop off considerably. I only have gone out once with the 4.10s this year... Just need more practice...

I just got my car back from the shop for a 4.11 install and HOLLY S*@% Going to the track on the 5th. Dont let anyone talk you out of 4.10s for 3.73s! I would have been disappointed, its not NEAR as bad as everyone makes them sound. Puts you in your seat from ANY gear. I love it!! A word of advice, go with 4.11's NOT 4.10's 4.11's have less teeth on both the ring and pinion and there is a noticeable difference looking at them. 4.11's look MUCH stronger! Do a search for a guy on here that goes by Grease, in his sig he has a link to his website, in the pictures section he shows the 4.10 vers 4.11's, huge difference!

Theoretically you are not supposed to pick up any mph, just drop your ET when you put more gear in the car, real life results vary. The only case where it makes a huge difference is in the CamaroZ28.com Drag Race game.

Traction isn't bad with 16x8 BFG drag radials even with over 400hp at the wheels. From a roll the best mph to race from is 20mph in 1st with drag radials and 40mph in 2nd with street tires.

To everybody who replied thank you very much. I know they don't add more actual horsepower but they do give you more mph sometimes. This is good news because I'm going from 3.23's to 4.10's I hope to add at least 1 mph.
