Re: any help
"New trans."? Whoever built it probably got something wrong in the 3-4 clutches. Take it back to them and have them check it. A 1-2-nuetral shift is usually a sure sign of a 3-4 clutch problem

I remember you getting prices from me on EFA about your transmission. That price looks alot better now that you have to add up all the cost and aggrivation that you're in now.As for, "Can you just replace the clutches"? Yea, it's possible to give you back 3rd and 4th...but...how long do you want them? A race 4L60E isn't a normal "animal". Most builders will always have a problem with them eating up 3-4 clutches...Just because most don't know what they're supposed to do to make one live. I get transmissions in my shop continually that have built at other places many many times with a "race" rebuild. Most peoples idea of a "race" rebuild is a stock transmission with a "Trans-Stop" shift it in it. This theory simply won't work with a 60E.
I hate to see anyone get beat out of money. I've tried to explain too many times about racing 4L60E's to people on here. A 60E can be built to hold up to extreme racing conditions IF it's built right. Unfortunately, there's only a handful of us in the country who are capable of building them right. I'll bet you a $100 that if you brought your transmission to me, I could show you exactly what they did wrong to cause the 3-4's to go, and I could show you that your transmission is nothing more than a stock transmission with a shift kit.
