Thumbs up Another Happy CPT Customer

So I bought my 97' z28 about a year ago. It was in excellent condition and shifted fine. Once I started to add horsepower to it, I could feel the tranny slowing down on me. It would take like 2 years for the 1-2 and 3-4 shifts. Then it finally gave up on me one day. It flat out would not shift 2-3,3-4. So I took it took a local shop and they looked at it and told me that the 3-4 clutch packs were burned up. They quoted me at 2200 dollars for the rebuild.

So I began to look around and I heard a lot of positive feedback for CPT. Franks website was very informative and the prices were awesome.
I dropped my tranny once I saved up for the rebuild, and I used the shipping instructions on the CPT website to build my own crate. I shipped it using Fed Ex (never ever ever use them) .
I only live about 120 miles away from Frank and the **** at Fed Ex couldnt get it there in one piece. Long story short, Frank helped me out even though I didnt listen to him when he said to use DHL.
He sent me pics of the way the trans had arrived, and the entire bellhousing was destroyed. It had a crack all the way around and a chunk the size of a golfball was missing. He helped me to get a new case, and answered my many dumb questions. Alltogether an awesome guy and very patient and very knowledgeable on transmissions. He kept me informed throughout the whole process, and never charged me for anything extra (hard parts, cooler, converter)until he contacted me and I said ok.

When the trans was finished, I decided to pick it up instead of taking a chance on the shipping company. When I arrived, Frank showed me my new trans, cooler, and converter, and told me how to install each. He also explained to me how/why my tranny blew up and even showed me the hard parts that had to be replaced.

I am very satisfied with the price/performance of everything. I got the performance rebuild and this thing shifts sooo nicely.
When I get on it,it shifts so hard it chirps the tires...even with stock trans pressure and 2.73 gears(soon to be 3.73).

So if anyone has a trans problem talk to Frank at CPT. I am very impressed with his work and I would highly recommed him.

Thank you for posting. We love hearing back from satisfied customers. Gotta love it when a 2.73 car chirps 2nd and 3rd gear

Thanks,
Frank

I remeber those day's, of 2.73's and crisp shifts through a 3500 stall, but then adding 3.73's

The way the tranny is now is how it should have left the factory imho. There are absolutely no grannies driving these things, so there is no reason for 2 second delays between shifts. With all the problems that people have even with stock power is disappointing. I am just glad that there are people out there who know how to build these things to last, so that I dont have to swap in a friggin 'glide or a th400. I will take my 4 gears and OD thankyou.
