Another CPT car in the 10's

Congatulations to Rich Shuleski for getting his 'Vette in the 10's. We did an M6 to 700R4 swap for him.

Frank
CPT

Here's a copy of his e-mail to me.

Frank,
Not sure if you got this last time so I resent it with a pic of the first 10 for the car. Happy Holidays.

Just wanted to say thanks for the tranny you built for my 96 Vette. The weather was decent the last day out but not perfict but I beat my best times I had with the M6 trans. (was 1.60/60'11.02@128)

1st run: 1.48/60' 11.08@123.52 spun going into second.
2nd run: 1.50/60' 10.96@123.24 hazed second just a bit.
3rd run: 1.49/60' 10.89@121.77 lifted at end trying not to break out but still did. (Had a 6.91@98.43 in 1/8th that run)

Since installing your trans the car has been really consistant on the launch with 1.52/1.53 all the time. This weekend leaving closer to off idle I got the 1.48/1.50/1.49 60's.
The car is still very good on the street/highway and rips at the track with a race wieght of 3500pnds.
Thanks again,
Rich Shuleski

Thanks again Frank.
When I was looking for a trans to do my conversion I started searching some of the forums and found all positive remarks about CPT. After speaking to Frank I ordered his pro race trans. Once I got everything converted over and drove the car, then went to the track I was very happy with my decision. I would definatly recomend Frank if you need a solid tranny.

Thank you, Rich. Keep us updated on how everything works out from here.

Have you ever had your car dynoed? I know you've given me all the details on the engine. Would you mind if we shared them here? I'm sure many would like to know what it takes to make a 3500# Vette run 10.8.

Thanks,
Frank

Mods to the car are:
396 motor 11:5 comp(callies crank,Lunatti rods,SRP pistons)
Custom Comp cam w/1.6 rockers
LT4 heads ported by Morgantini racing (all machine work by him)
Ported Edelbrock LT4 intake
DRM longtubes, factory catback with Corsa mufflers
Elect waterpump
58mm TB
30# injectors
Ed Write mail order tune (car runs a bit rich)
3:73 gears
Yank 3600 Converter
CPT Pro race 700r4
The car is not stripped at all except for the elect smog pump and front sway bar. A/C works cold. The car was dynoed before I freshened it up and added the elect pump after I blew it up at Pocono roadracing. It was around 420rwhp/400rwtq with the M6 trans. I figure it's got to be higher now just never had it rechecked. I also really should get a dyno tune.
I think if I loose a few pounds,(me and car) add some skinnys, have some mineshaft air it should go high 10.6's maybe. I'm just happy to not having major rear damage with the auto.
