aluminum flywheel balancing question????
aluminum flywheel balancing question????
I just installed my spec aluminum flywheel, stage 3 clutch and the polyurethane trans mount today. I was told by a local speed shop to have the flywheel and clutch blalanced to zero. Is this correct? Now I have the worst vibration I have ever felt. I know the trans mount will let you feel vibration but this is pretty bad. Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks

If the bottom end is still stock then the new flywheel should match the balancing of the stock flywheel. Which is not neutral balanced but the new clutch assembly should be neutral balanced (have it checked to be sure).
If you have a stock bottom end then haveing your new flywheel neutral (zero) balanced can cause problems. Vibs at first and increased wear and stress on rotating parts.
