Add a shift kit?

I am getting into a 2800 Midwest TC and B&M Supercooler. Supposedly the shifts get loose with adding a high stall converter. Some people add Transgo's to help stiffin up shifts and strengthen a few components. The only thing is I also hear that some shift kits can kill your transmission. What do you guys think? Add one or not?

go with the transgo! i have heard from a few tranny guys to veer away from the b&m. i believe u will regret not putting the transgo in after u drive it a few days without a kit in there!

Yea, it seems to be either a really good or really bad idea depending on who you talk to. Any other comments appriciated.

Re: Add a shift kit?

i believe that a shift kit actually helps the tranny last longer by increasing the line pressures to make firmer shifts and causing less tranny slip which is what kills them.

Re: Add a shift kit?

I bought one for $65 shipped, then sold it, and now I wish I still had it.

I have seen alot of people using them on this board with their B&M's and stall's and they seem to work good. For every 10 who like it 1 or 2 might say its no good.

Perhaps I'll have to reinvest in one, not many people like the added slushiness of shifts after adding higher stalls.
