Re: A4 Shift Kit

I will be going with a Trans Go with stage 2 setting. I have it installed in my Cutlass and it performs great. I'm just looking right now for a place that sells them for a good price, hopefully with video included. Let me know what you come across.

Re: A4 Shift Kit

The Transgo is a very popular shift kit for the 4th gens. It may cost a little more than the B&M, but it is definitely a good quality kit.

Re: A4 Shift Kit

I had the TransGo in my old thirdgen and it was a great kit. I've head nothing but bad things about the B&M kit and nothing but good about the Transgo. I guess as always, you get what you pay for.

Re: A4 Shift Kit

The Trans-Go Performance Shift kit "as is", does not offer very much for the 4L60E. Trans-Go has made some changes to their kit because of "torque management". The earlier versions offered much more in terms of durability when using a 9.5" torque converter. I modify the kit to the previous version and with some improvements. This "modified" version works extemely well with the smaller diameter torque converters. I use this kit in all of my performance builds, since its introduction. This "modified" version will still shift smooth at part throttle, and the shifts getting progressively firmer with more throttle.

Re: A4 Shift Kit

What's the difference in going with a shift kit like Trans Go or B&M, or using the Hypertech programmer to increase shift firmness? I had it installed on my 96 Z28 and really could tell a pretty big difference. I know a lot of ppl aren't Hypertech fans, but I know there was a difference.

Re: A4 Shift Kit

The Hypertech is a "software" change that bumps line pressure and such.

The Trans-go kit is a "hardware" change in the transmission itself.
