97 Lt1 T56 to TH400 help

I am going from a T56 to a TH400. I've never worked, removed, installed an auto in my life. Every car I have ever owned has been manual. So now that I am doing this for the 1st time in my life I dont know wtf to do...lol

I picked up a TH400 this weekend this will be sitting behind an internally ballance LT1 built for boost which is going to see a minimum of 15#'s

So please let me know if I am going down the right path and far as parts go.

The flexplate im looking at on summitracing is a TCI 153t flexplate Part Number: TCI-399174.

Well thats all I have so far

How would I go about determining the best stall to go with. Also which dipstick, and shifter has worked best so far?

Like you , I knew nothing about an auto trans. I left it up to my shop of choice. This is what I ended up with:

Race Prepped TH-400 by "Gene"
B&M SFI Flex-plate
ATI non-locking convertor - 5,000rpm flash @ 800ft-lb
JW UltraBell
ATI Manual Reverse Pattern Valve Body
B&M Pro Ratchet Shifter
TCI SFI Aluminum Case Shield
Perma-Cool Cooler w/ Fan
Lokar Dipstick
Stock GM pan w/ Drain
Fluid Temperature Sensor
B&M T-Handle w/pushbutton for O/D
Gear Vendor 0.78:1 Overdrive
Mark Williams 3" Chromoly Driveshaft / Solid 1350 Yokes

This was all done about 12 years ago, so my memory is not too good.

I also ended up with the right parts (VSS/reluctor) to interface the TH400 with the stock PCM for a speedo. Have to flash the PCM with an A4 program, and delete all the A4 codes, or keep the M6 program and just get a Dakota Digital speedo interface box and adjust there for the difference in reluctor teeth.

I may be able to find part #'s on my old receipts.... but they are all from a long time ago. When I did the conversion, the only Lokar dipstick was very short. I have it supported off the last centerbolt on the passenger side valve cover. I think Lokar makes a longer one now.... maybe Madman carries it? I think he may have a TH400 cross-member. Mine was built up by adding to the stock M6 piece.

What needs to be bought for the shifter area? that is the only thing I'm missing right now.
