97 4L60E slippage...or something...lol

So i have this 97 Z28 over here in japan...now keep in mind it is identical to the us version...

but i have a question on the trans...

i have a tendency to manually shift my trans...i know...it's hard on them...but eh...

now, if i manually control the trans, in every gear, as soon as i let off the gas the trans or converter or something slips...and then it will catch itself when i give it gas...but when you let the computer shift, you barely ever feel it slip?

any possible reasons for this...aside from my manual shiftin it?

what do you mean it slips? that's a very vague term to use, especially over the internet. What is 'it', what does the car do, what does the engine do?

If you are manually shifting at a higher rpm then where the computer shifts at, it will be a firmer shift almost every time. and if you let off the gas at a higher rpm and shift, it might 'feel' like it's slipping, but it's really just high rpm, and the engine being bogged down.

ok...say i am driving along in first gear....and let's say at around 3000rpm i let off the gas, normally the car would start to slow down as there is no throttle being applied basically using the engine to slow the car down.... BUT, in my case, the rpms drop all the way down to idle. then, when i give it gas, and the rpms climb back up to where they were...then it catches and takes off....does that make sense?

The lugs on the over-run hub, of your input sprag, are broken off. This is a COMMON problem with manually DOWNSHIFTED 4L60E's.
Time to get it rebuilt, and change your driving habits.
