96 LT1/4L60e in a 95 Z28. Transmission issues?

Im working on a friends car and I knew the car had the motor changed once but I didnt know the transmission had been changed also. The motor is a 96 LT1 and the trans is from the same car. He said that the car hits the rev limiter befor it shifts. What can be done (if anything) to make a 95 ECM work with the 96 4L60e? Thanks for the help.

The '95 and '96 4L60E's are interchangeable. The problem isn't electronic...it's internal. The 4L60E needs a few modifications to keep this from happening. It may also be a good sign of the band and/or 3-4 clutches going out.
