Okay, so I've been out of the loop for a while. I can't quite remember what it is called, but it what causes the free coasting when in OD and you let off the gas, but causes the car to lose speed when you do the same thing in D (3rd).
Now, what would cause that to, um, just go away. Now I can be crusing in 3rd, and when I take my foot of the gas, the RPMs just drop to idle speed and the car just coasts along as if in neutral.

To make matters worse (or fun for sadists), at about 3500 RPMs, in any gear, she likes to slip until the RPMs drop back down to a more comfortable 3000 range.
