It really depends on how it's built. A bad (cheap) rebuild can last as little as a few miles. A good, quality rebuild will last years. The problem is, it's hard to find someone who specializes in 700/4L60E's. Most "general transmission shops" don't know what it takes to build a 4L60E for a performance application.

As for "How much power will one take"? Again, it depends on how it's built.

If you are referring to a stock 4l60e it depends on the motor/power level, and driving style to determine how long it lasts. Mine didn't even make 55K miles, and if you are pushing more power and drive more aggressively (I doubt you can drive more aggressively then me) it could last even less time. My car was mostly street driven/raced and once or twice a month I would take it to the track. After a few years the stock tranny would slowly get worse, took it to CPT for a rebuild and had it in for well over 12K miles and multiple track runs now without any problems...

To answer the how much power question, my car on a Mustang dyno puts down ~300 RWHP and 338 RWTQ, and that seemed to fry my stock tranny in the mileage listed above. those dyno pulls were after getting the tranny, converter, and the EWP.. So considering all the other mods have been there for years I say it was a close estimate...

well, it is just an other transmission shop. And there is no way that i can find a better one in Latvia. And they give a one year warranty. And thanks for the info. Hopefully they will fix it good.
