94 camaro trans noise
The VSS is a reluctor wheel on the output shaft of the tranny, and a pickup sensor bolted to the tailshaft housing, with no contact between the parts. The only way it would make a buzzing noise would be if someone hammered the sensor deeper into the housing, or there was something loose in the housing, and it was rubbing on the reluctor. It wouldn't make the noise for long, because the reluctor would grind away the sensor head until there was no more contact. Easy to pull the sensor and check for signs of damage.
Additionally, the VSS noise would be tied to the driveshaft speed, not the engine speed.
Might want to mention what tranny you have on your 94. Generally, its a good idea to set up a "signature" with basic info about your car - year, model, engine, trans and any major mods.

i have a 94 v6, 3.4 camaro with a 4l60e auto transmission. it has a k&n filter charger and a catback dual exhaust system. it has over 141,000 miles. recently i just had the head gaskets replaced and now the trans is making a low buzzing sound in nuetral and in low gear. the car shifts good and the fluid still looks red. i may take it to aamco and have them check it out. they said it would cost about 50 dollars to check it.
