93 4L60 question??

how many plugs/wires go to the 4L60 tranny? on my car there are 2, but i was planning on swapping in a 700R4 with the 383 because i heard they are the same. but i heard earlier in school today that the 700r4 and 4L60 are the same and only have a throttle cable, no electrical harness at all. so im confused.

are the 700R4 and the 4L60 EXACTLY the same tranny?

do they have any wires/ plugs going to them like mine?

the reason i ask the second question is because my car was built in mid 93 so i wasnt sure if i might have gotten a 4L60e tranny since i heard they only had cables and no wires. man im all messed up about trannies.

thanks so much for any help.

Case Conectors are different, the 93 uses a 5 pin, oposed to the 4 pin.

Re: 93 4L60 question??

I am not sure if you can convert to the 4-pin for sure or not, however I bought the B&M version directly from them to find out it had the 4-pin, so we just did an internal swap using my wiring, and housing....let me run out and look at the tail shaft...
