9 Inch posi type?

I have a 9" ford rearend in my car and I need to put a posi in it. I was looking at the Detroit TrueTrac unit. Does anyone have any expirence with one of these? Any other recommendations on a posi unit?

Thanks,

Thanks,
The true-trac is the same as the torsen. A torque sencing diff. that applies the most torque to the tire with the most traction. Alot of road racers like them cause they come off the corners easier that an auburn or locker. Nascar uses them and they will handle 700hp +.

Thanks,
Forget about a Posi (short for GM"s Positraction Limited Slip), you are looking for a LIMITED SLIP unit.

If you want better than 31 spline axles, you are limited to a detroit locker or a spool.

If you can live with 31 spline axles, I've been told that the Detroit truetrac is the best option (that is what I'm going with), but it is not really intended for hard launches at the dragstrip.

Wrong, you can get a ARB in 35 spline.

Well, I thought we were talking about regular differentials.

I know I would never use an ARB air locker in my car. Unless I was going to convert it into a rock-crawler.

Re: 9 Inch posi type?

The car is mostly street, with an occasional drive to the strip. I do not plan on using slicks and I do not need more than 31 spline axles.

I want to be able to go around a corner, accelerate and not burn the inside tire, either get traction or slide sideways depending on the situation and desired outcome.
