80's tbi rearend = ls1 rear?

80's tbi rearend = ls1 rear?

is the rearends the same? A guy said the ls1's is stronger I know there both 7.5 10 bolts. Just need to settle this.

The 3rd Gens and the 4th Gens use the same basic 7.5/7.625" 10-bolt. But the 3rd Gen rear is about 3" to 4" narrower than the 4th Gen assembly. Neither is any stronger than the other.

If you're basing it the ability for a bone stock car to break the rear, then yes, the 3rd gen will _seem_ to be a lot stronger, but only because the 3rd gens make so much less power than a 4th gen.

Thanks guys I thought so, but someone I know said otherwise just clarafying so I dont look stupid. (wow my spelling sucks)
Dont know why I never put this in drivetrain in the first place.
