I haven't had mine to the track yet. If you want to you could go to the local ford boards and take a look at what they are cutting with them. I believe 1.5 1.6's they can handle. My rear is only a 28 spline set up. I don't go to the track at all really. After i did my heads and cam i still had my stock 3.42's and was looking at getting some gears. For 1200 shipped craig made me this 28 spline setup and i just had to reuse my old 10 bolt axles. I though of this as a nice alternative to gears in my 10 bolt. I'm keeping my spare 10 bolt but a guy could easily sell his old one for a few 100 and have about a 900-1000 dollar rearend. I was just wanting a set of gears and i figured why pay 200 for gears, 150 for an install kit and a few 100 bucks for the install and possibly break the ring gear, or spend 1200 keep my old 10 bolt rear and get an 8.8 with much stronger gears installed ready to bolt in. Plus the 8.8 has 3.90 gear ratio's too.

Yea, I do hate it when people don't know what they're talking about... More specifically, you. Moser 9" != Moser 12 bolt, so why qoute me, then post a pic of a different type of rear end and talk ****? My 9" has three hollow (threaded) tubes welded to it, which has a plate steel TA bracket that bolts to the rear end. I've also been MIG/TIG/gas welding for 15 years (bought myself a $5000+ welder Miller 300DX Tig welder for Christmas), and can tell you that the 8.8 you show looks like it's been built well. Like I said, welds and materials look just as good as my Moser 9"... Seen lots of professional parts built not nearly as good - I WISH my PA tubular k-member was welded that well. So, with your vast experience with welding and fabrication, what would you say makes the 8.8 so ghetto?

injected, i did not say that the quality looked as good as teh moser. moser is a loarge company that has their orn castings for the TQ arm. i was saying that this guys 8.8's look very good given what he has to work with.

WERD

Yea don't get me wrong, I almost considered buying the extremechassis rear, but I started thinking, for the price, and for the PROVEN quality might as well get a 12 bolt.

Do the 8.8" pupkins that he uses have the top mounting ears on them already? or does he just weld them on? Are the pumpkins cast steel or cast iron and are the materials the same as a gm rearend such as the 7.5" or 8.5"?

they already have the ears. they are for upper control arms on the fords. must be cast steel for them to weld up that nicely

HELLO!!!!!! F-Bodys DON'T HAVE UPPER CONTROL ARMS!! The ears are there cause the 8.8 rear is out of the ford mustang, which use upper control arms!
