700r4 swap, electrical connections???
700r4 swap, electrical connections???
I've got a 700r4 in my LT1 and I was wondering what I needed to do to get the stall to lock up what I needed to do to get the speedometer working. Can anybody tell me where to splice into for these 2 connections? Are there any online how-to's, maybe?
Re: 700r4 swap, electrical connections???
I am doing something simular ,I am swapping a 94 LT1 into an 92 S-10 and using an 87 700R4. The speedo will need to have the 4L60 or T-56 type reluctor and sensor installed on the back of the tranny. There is a simple switch controlled lock-up you can make or you can buy a stand alone one from TCI. Here is the diagram for the manual lock-up.

Re: 700r4 swap, electrical connections???
I followed the electrical diagram and determined that the connector on the t56 for the speed sensor is the black one with the purple wire and the yellow wire. I hooked it up to the tranny and while it does make the speedometer go up with speed, it shows that I'm doing 110mph when I'm really going about 30. I guess I could try messing with the multiplier in the tuning software to fix this, right?
As far as the lockup switch, I think this tranny does have an aftermarket switch on it. Thanks for that diagram!
