700r4 no forward gears just reverse

I rebuilt my trans in my truck and everything seemed fine for the first 30-40 miles and then I lost all forward gears. It is like it is in nuetral except when it is in reverse. What do you guys think I did wrong or what should I look for.

It won't move forward in any manual ranges, either?

With no forward gears in any position you aparently have a major failure in the input drum and would have to have damage to both the forward and overun clutches ,You will need to remove the trans and tear it back down to find out why if you need any thing just yell ,

The splines in the front planetary are stripped or the splined section has broken off the front planet completely, could be one cause.

bad stator bushings that have caused a problem in the sealing rings on the input shat, could be another.

Neither the forward or over-run clutches are holding, or not tranferring power.

I found what went wrong. I rolled the lip seal on the 3-4 piston by accident causing the seal to tear and get no pressure. The seal that tore ended up getting jammed into the 3-4 clutch pack and burned them up. Thanks for the replies. It sucks that I had to start over but I guess you live and learn.

A cut 3-4 piston lip seal won't cause a no forward condition. Are you sure it wasn't the forward or over-run piston?
