6 speed auto swap.

Has anybody thought of swaping a 6 speed automatic for the 4L60E? Would it even work? And how much hp can they handle? I am by no means an expert on any of this stuff, i was just wondering.

I would like to run 4.10's or a higher gear in the rear and stay with an auto. But i would also like some topend and still have some fuel economy, but thats not really important.

IDK just throwing out an idea.

Search tool is your friend.

Plenty of people have swapped out autos for manuals.

Sorry, I missed the "auto" part, all I saw was 6 speed.

I know someone was discussing it before, and they said you would need a 6 speed MANUAL PCM unit, with a seperate PCM to control the 6 speed AUTO transmission. I know they are rated to a high horsepower, and torque. Almost like the t-56. That is all I really know about them.

Re: 6 speed auto swap.

From the outside, the 4L60 and 6L80 are physically the same. It will bolt right up, and you won't need to modify anything to make it fit.

The 6L80 has a higher torque spec than the 4L60, and the 2006 C6 has a 6L80, so it can probably handle your horsepower.

MyShibby is right about the electronic stuff. You could always swap in an LS2, and then just use a C6 auto PCM.

Personally, I think a 6-speed automatic 4th-gen would be badass. Good luck!
