looking for a new driveshaft

i have a '98 V6 auto with Y87 package. my universal joint on the driveshaft is getting loose. it doesn't need to be replaced now, but it will eventually. i was thinking that i would just be better off to swap in a V8 driveshaft & u-joint. it looks like i can get aluminum driveshafts on ebay for $150-200.
would i see a performance increase if i put in a one of these? would it be worth it?

also, are all 4th gen driveshafts interchangable?

Performance increase not really; as for interchangeability; I believe they are all the same unless u have a 2-piece driveshaft.

Re: looking for a new driveshaft

i believe v6's have a 2 piece driveshaft

if it uses a 1 peice driveshaft, then they are all the same from 1982 to 2002, automatic or manual
