5 speed swap, different starter?

I'm doing a 5 speed swap on my 84 Camaro, I thought I had everything and I went to put the starter on and it doesn’t fit. It's a 305 and the old trans was a TH350. All the guides I've read about swapping to a 5 speed have said nothing about needing a new starter, but I know most 3rd gen didn't use the TH350, but I didn't think that would cause the starter to be different. Any help would be great, I'm trying to do this car on a small budget, so I want to find a used starter, so I would like to know what other vehicles use this same starter. Thanks for the help.

I did the 5 speed swap in my 88 using an 84 305 that was in a 80 trans am with a turbo 350 and the starter fit just fine with the 5 speed flywheel. Are you absolutly sure it won't fit? What is it hitting? What did the flywheel come from?

I actually already went and bought a new starter, and it's alot different than the one I had. The frustrating part now is that I looked through my shop for another chevy starter and couldn't find anything so I went out and bought one and then after I put the new one I find one that looks just like the one I bought sitting on a shelf where I had already looked, I guess I'm going blind.
Thanks for the reply though.
