Exclamation 4L60e ses code 758 Help!

My trans started acting funky out of nowhere and staying in 3rd gear even for a takeoff, as far as i can tell. It threw an ses code and i limped it home. When i got home i scanned it and what my generic scanner came up with was dtc 758 "shift solenoid B electrical."

I put my car up on the lift and checked the plug and it all looks good, and the harness under the hood looks good. so i guess my next move is to pull the trans pan off and take a look at it. But in case it isnt entirely obvious by looking which one is solenoid "B"? Any advice for me to help me get this worked out is greatly appreciated. Is there any tests i can do to it or anything of that sort?

electrical fault means just that , the solenoid or wiring to the solenoid is open or shorted. My first move would be to replace the solenoid.

this may sound dumb, but the solenoids are the two cylinder shaped pieces with the electrical plugs on them at the very front of the valve body by the converter? or the two square pieces at the back by the tail shaft? basicly all i need to know is which one is "solenoid b" cause i dont have a clue.

should i just replace them all or a pair of them? also just to save me the agony of trying to explain this to a dealer or the guys at the parts store, does anybody have a part number for the solenoids i need in a 96 t/a are they both the same?

also is there any type of test i can do on the electrical connectors to verify that its not the harness being the problem before i tear everything apart.

Update:

ok so i scrounged around online and found that solenoid b was at the back of the valve body on the passengers side. i then checked resistance across the terminals on the back of the trans that are open for resistantce. on the drivers side or solenoid A i got 22ohms which if i unstand correctly is normal, and on the passengers side solenoid B i got 12.2ohms which would be a pretty good indicator that the solenoid has failed corredct?
