Re: 4l60e question

Only 94 4l60e will work for your 94 , other yr. lt1 4l60e will bolt up but will not work . and yes a ls1 has a completely different bellhousing from a lt1

Re: 4l60e question

The 1993 & 1994 are the same. Changing the output shaft and the tail housing on the Corvette has to be done, but the Corvette will not have the transmission mount holes in the case. Check to make sure, otherwise it will not work without the transmission mount holes.

Do you mean on a Corvette? The 93 f-body has a 4L60 and 94 has a 4L60E, which I know you know are not the same. Just trying to avoid confusion.

Re: 4l60e question

Thanks guys. I will check for the mount holes. How hard is it to swap the output shaft and tail housing?

Re: 4l60e question

The transmission has to be partially disassembled to swap the output shat. '93 and '94 4L60E's are both non PWM, so those 2 years are interchangeable. They didn't use the 4L60E in the F-Bodies in '93, though, but a '93 truck 4L60E will work.

Re: 4l60e question

If the tranny I'm looking at buying is from a 94 vette and my z28 is a 94 why would the output shaft be different? I don't understand. But thanks for the help

The Corvette output shaft is shorter...

The Vette driveshaft will definitely not work. You'll need the CORRECT length output shaft because you'll need to use your F-Body tail housing, so you have some place to bolt your torque arm. Please, take my advice... Do this the right way. Just have the F-Body transmission rebuilt.
