Exclamation 4L60E problem?!

I have '94 Trans AM, A4, that is no longer shifting into 3rd gear. I started hearing a loud ticking noise upon start up about a month ago. A few weeks later she started hesitating btw 1000 and 2000 rpms (dont know if that is related to the problem). And finally today she really began to have trouble on the road. Ive had this car for about a year, the previous owner did a rebuilt on the tranny himself and if my memory is correct he was have the same problem himself. I not sure what is causing the problem; any ideas would be appreciated.

...Sounds like your 3-4 clutches. This is a very common problem in stock/rebuilt stock 4L60E's. We make MANY modifications to keep the 3-4's alive.

When it attempts to make a 2-3 shift, does it feel like it's going into neutral?

Ya, thats exactly what it felt like. Time for a new tranny? Or is worth another rebuild?

Give me a call, we'll see what we can do for a rebuild for you. You might want to look into having it built a little better than the previos time. We build the best / most reasonably priced 4L60E's in the country. Feel free to do a search to check out our backround.

Thanks,
Frank

I'll vouch for Frank. Given he has not rebuilt any transmission for me, I was looking at his work when I needed one. He uses some top quality parts, and knows what he is doing.
