4l60e not engaging in gears

Car does not reverse or drive in respective gears. Whenever the car is put into gear, and then put back into park there a grinding noise. Fluid looks good. Ideas?

Is the speedo going up with the car in drive...(Eventhough the car isn't moving)?

Broken output shaft, stripped splines in yoke or Rear end would be suspect.
Driveshaft yoke or rear most likley if as Frank mentioned the speedo is going up and the car not moving

yes the speedo steadily increase, but the car is not moving. Also when i put it back in park it made a not so good noise.

You've got a broken rear (differential). the rreason you hear the ratcheting noise when you put it in park is because the transmission is still turning, when it's trying to engage the park dawg into the rear ring gear.
