4L60 (93 Z28) Tail Shaft Question

93 auto, (stock transmission)

Should the tail shaft output shaft move much,,, how much,,,

Mine moves approx 1/4 inch should it be rigid or should it have movement??

This is lateral movement (wobble) not end play

Thanks

Re: 4L60 (93 Z28) Tail Shaft Question

With the slip yoke removed, it's no longer assembled and measuring lateral play is irrelevant.

The yoke and output shaft splines should be inspected, the surface of the yoke should be also and it should have nearly zero lateral play in the tailhousing bushing.

It will have more side to side than what should look normal.
