410 gear
#2
"Work the same"? No.
A stall serves a different purpose (sort of) than lower gears. If you're looking for 1/4 mile performance/improvement, then the stall with net you more gains than gears. For instance, my car shaved ~.4 seconds off the 1/4 mile time with 4.10's over 2.73's, but the car STILL bogged off the line even with the 4.10's, and it obviously needed a stall .
There are pro's and con's to both. I've never owned a car with a high stall, so I can't answer what it will "feel" like on a daily basis. I "have" driven an A4 w/4.10's for about ~2 years, so I know what that's like (not unbearable like some people say ).
Having 3.42's and a stall converter is probably a good compromise and a good combo for your LT1 .
