400

whts up? i was wondering abouth 400 trannys. I blew my 4l60-e and decided to go with a tubo 400 reverse valve body 3speed. I got up in to the car and it was longer than the stock tranny and the bellhousing blots did not match up. Is it worth it I will be needing an upgraded tranny soon but my main goal is to run 9's would I be good with a built 400? What would I need to do to have it fit into my z. By the way its an LS1 if that makes any difference. Or should I just go with a stage3 4l60-e? any help is greatly appreciated.thanks.

Re: 400

unless you are completely sold on having fun in the quarter only, go with the 4l60. having a lockup converter and an overdrive is very nice for the streets. the 4l60's can be built well to handle a lotr of power. yes, a th400 is a stronger unit out of the box, but you lose a lot of true streetability. by true streetability i mean much better gas mileage and less noise on ope road driving thanks to a lockup converter and another gear.

What's up man? I see you're in Jupiter...are you on www.pbfbody.com ?

Anyways, I would highly recommend ^Frank's transmission. I'm very happy with mine.
