is the 4.10 the highest lowest ratio?

 

I've never seen anything for sale on LT1's that is larger than that. I had 4.11's on my 69 SS.

I can only imagine the mpg on something larger than with an A4.........

 

I would assume you are talking about a 10 bolt... the answer is no. There are a few others available but in a 10 bolt they get pretty thin and greatly compromise the strength.

 

on a stocker car, (2.73) what would be the likely time of an upgrade to 4.10?

 

if youre talking about your car, id recomend 3.73's for your auto, unless if you dont care at all about gas milage, and i mean pretty bad milage with 4.10's, plus i you would have way too much gear without traction, then you get traction and blow your rear, your auto tranny already has alot lower gears than the 6 speed,

and the best time to upgrade gears, is whenever you wanna have more fun, pulls harder in every gear

 

NO 4.10 isn't the lowest you can get on a 10 bolt. They also have a 4.56 ratio but I can't imagine having that on anything other than a 6 speed, and having 33" tires.. Otherwise you'd definately be heading towards shifting into 5th. 4.10's are perfect for an M6 and 3.73's are perfect for auto's...

 

your confused... His car has a HIGHER gear ratio than a 6speed car.. His car has 3.23's where an M6 come's with 3.42's... The higher the # the LOWER the gear ratio!

 

there are 4.56 for a stock ten bolt, haven't seen anybody having them though

 

4.56s are worthless...if u like to burn tires and max out 120 in 6th....then they are fun! I know afew poeple that have had them and I know someone that has them on right now. But they are swapping them out for their 3.73s.
