I know that a lot of the old Pontiac stuff is interchangeable, but what about going from a 3rd gen to a 2nd gen? Like are the transmissions interchangeable from a 87 Pontiac to a 78?

I know that the th-200-4r can be bolted up. But some of the later 3rd gen's came with the th-700r4, would those still bolt up to another Pontiac, if it was out of a Pontiac?

The 700-R4 was only made in the 60degree V6 bolt pattern or the chevy bolt pattern. No dual-pattern like the 200-4R and no BOP.
