You can check this with any ODBII scan tool. The digital RPM readout you get from the tool is always accurate -- it's just the gauge on the dash that's the problem.

If it is accurate, you have 3.73s. If not, just do the math again based on your real RPM.
Will the tach only be off at higher RPM's? At Idle it reads around 750.

Will putting it in D keep it in 3rd? Is the OD the 4th gear? Well I will put it in D and test it out today after work.

Alternate way, count the number of driveshaft turns it takes to turn the tire one full circle. 3.23 is close to 3-1/4 turns, 3.42 is close to 3-1/2 turns, 3.73 is close to 3-3/4 turns.

I am getting some adjustments done on my exhaust next weekend, so when she is in the air I will find out what gears are in there.

3.73s are great for a DD in my opinion. thats what i run. give you a few tenths on the track and i have not had any problems with drivability. i can still go 140 if the road allows. i actually pinned out my 150mph speedo a few months ago. i would say i was going 155 red lined.

I haven't had a chance to open her up like that yet. I am eagerly awaiting the opportunity.

If its stock tire size, then none. If it's not stock, it'll be off. I dunno by how much or which way though.

I have richmond 3.73's and i run about 2600-2800 RPMs in OD down the highway. IMHO 3.73's are wicked for a DD. I love mine, with my trans hooked up right and a 2400/2600 stall im doing great. When i get the chance i plan to up the stall a bit with a reputable name and higher rate, a vigilante will really make her move!
