when swaping gears do you absolutely need the installation kit, or just the ring and pinion. i have several friends that have just swapped without changing anything else and the gears dont whine or have any other problems.

 

is it neccessary? no. is it remotely intelligent? hell yes unless of course you like doing every repair to your car twice. do it right do it once.
