The factory stall is pretty dang low, i think its around 1200. With my '81 I went to a 2000 stall and actually picked up .2 in the 1/8th, so I'd assume the stock one is pretty dang low.

ok, thanks, but do you think the 80 converter would be the same stall as one from 73? this guy swears its around 2400 stall

That stall speed would, of course, depend on the motor in front of it. But I doubt you would get 2400 RPMs from a stock converter without a trans brake and that would also likely include a big block up front, and maybe not then without breaking something.
Of course I'm just guessing based on some past F-body's I had. It may stall at 2400 with your motor but if it's a bone stock 80 converter from a v8 350 Camaro, that car only had 170hp@3800 and 270tq@2400. I'd guess with rated power outputs at those RPM's, a stall speed of more than 1800 would be detrimental and a 2400 RPM stall even worse.
73 camaro v8 350 specs =
245hp@5200 and 280tq@4000. My bet would be the 73 converter has a higher stall speed.
