2nd Gear Scratch

Quick question, before I had my tanny get rebuilt, I was able to get a 2nd gear scratch pretty good, now I can't. The car seems faster, I'm just wondering why I don't get a scratch now. Here's what he did that I know of, corvette servos, all valve body upgrades, all performance plates, and a much larger pump then the factory 4L60E pump. I can tell the pump has reduced the recovery time significantly. I wanted a shift kit instaled and he said that he was going to give it more performance mainly by dealing with the pump, and plattes. I'm also running an edge 2400-2600 stall. Transmissions are something I really don't know a whole lot about. Like I said, I really wanted to put in a transgo or b&m performance shift kit. Did I screw up by not having him? Don't get me wrong, the car is very quick, but I'm missing that second gear scratch.

Re: 2nd Gear Scratch

from what ive seen/noticed is that when something shifts faster it has less chance of spinning...me shifting aggresively will give me a good kick sideways into 2nd and sometimes start spinning again...but me powershifting keeps the tires planted and i may get a chrip ...but it can also depend on many other things, any suspension mods? new tires?...how did the weather compare from then to now?..amount of gas blah blah blah

Re: 2nd Gear Scratch

I have Eibach sportline springs, bilstein HD shock/struts, BMR front & rear sway bars, all new bushings, ball joints, BMR adj pan rod. Thats about it for suspension. It was kind of warm yesterday, I don't know. I will say I trapped 12.7 in the quarter. To answer about the stall, it gets the car into its power band quicker. Basicly my car wont move when stomped on until 2700 rpms. if you just ease into it, the cars drives pretty much normal.
