Ok I have a 92 camaro rs 305 tbi with auto(assuming 2.73 ratio). I putting a 385 stroker engine in and want either 3.42 or 3.73 gear ration. What is the easiest and cheapest way to go about this swap? Buy the houseing, change the gears and axels and Id be good? I also want rear disk brakes but its such a hassel to ship or receive a whole rear end so whats my cheaoest ans easiet way of doing this? Thanks for any help!!!

Honestly your best bet would be to find a rear from a 91-92 Z28 (IF you want to keep the stock offset wheels). Most of them had 3.23s. If you can find one from a 305 TPI car with a 5-speed they have 3.42s some times IF they had the G92 option. Also if your wanting to go to disks on the rear dont forget to grab a 4 wheel disk proportioning valve from a 3rd gen. If you have aftermarket wheels or will be getting aftermarket wheels a 93-02 rear end will also work. ALOT of 4th gens had 3.23 gears. And all the 6-speed cars from 94-02 had 3.42s. The 1993s had 3.23s in the 6-speed cars also. But ALWAYS check your ratios. I bought a 94 Z28 to fix and sell a few months ago and it had been wreaked at one point in its life and someone had swapped in a 3.23 rear end in place of the original 3.42 rear. I hope that helps some. Good luck with your RS, it should be a bad *** ride.

I just spoke to a guy on another board that has a posi 28 spline that I can just swap in from a 91 z28. Even if i do keep the drums atleast ill have posi and can change gears.

Not really. Kinda high. If you hold out you can run across them cheaper. Thats especially high for one out of a 91 camaro. Im sure its well worn and probably doesnt have much life left in it.
